Where the market is
The Perth and WA commercial solar market in 2026
Commercial solar in WA in 2026 is a maturing market. Three forces are shaping it right now
The 1 May 2026 STC factor change
the federal Cheaper Home Batteries STC factor steps down on 1 May 2026, dropping commercial battery rebate values mid-year. Several Perth competitors are running ‘April Cliff’ campaigns. This needs to be reflected on Regen's pages without becoming the whole story.
Western Power 30kVA streamlining
new SWIS grid-connection rules from May 2026 enable 30kVA standard connections. This makes sub-100kW systems easier to approve. It also makes 39kW DC / 30kVA AC the new sweet spot for SME commercial.
LGCs over STCs for 100kW+
systems above 100kW now favour Large-scale Generation Certificates (ongoing income to 2030) over a one-off STC discount. A 150kW Perth system can generate $8,400–$12,600/year in LGC revenue alone — and Regen Power's commercial page should educate buyers on this.
Daytime self-consumption is the ROI lever
Perth feed-in tariffs are weak (DEBS); businesses with high daytime load — manufacturing, cold storage, hospitality, healthcare, retail, gyms — see 2–4 year paybacks. This is the audience the page should be speaking to.

Pricing benchmarks
100kW+ installs are pricing at $1.00–$1.20/W; sub-100kW at $1.20–$1.50/W. We do not put pricing on the page — but the audience reads quotes against these benchmarks.
Where the off-grid market is
Off-grid in WA is fragmented and growing. Three buyer segments dominate:
Remote homes & lifestyle blocks
Plain English, no jargon, comparison vs cost of grid extension
Typical job:
10–20kW solar + 30–60kWh storage + small genset
Farms, stations, agribusiness
Reliability, ROI vs diesel running cost, case studies, after-sales support
Typical job:
30–100kW solar + 60–200kWh storage + diesel/gas backup
Mining, telecom, resorts, government
Engineering credibility, IP, patents, international references, project management
Typical job:
100kW–1MW microgrid, multi-source
The rebuild treats Regen's off-grid offering as one page (currently four), and structures it around these three segments rather than around product names (HybridGEN, AcquaSmart, Hybrid Systems). Regen's products then plug into the right segment as solutions.
Western Power's Stand-alone Power Systems (SPS) program is a notable factor: Western Power now installs free SPS units for some fringe-of-grid farmers, and competes with paid off-grid offerings. Regen's positioning needs to address customers who don't qualify for SPS, who own mining / commercial / hospitality / residential properties Western Power won't service, or who want a system larger or more capable than the SPS program offers.
